Fifth Anniversary Foil Hero Collection Unboxing!
almost 8 years ago – Tue, Jul 26, 2016 at 11:29:01 PM

Hey there, Heroes!

As promised earlier this month, I have an unboxing video for the Fifth Anniversary Foil Hero Collection for you, and you are going to love it!

These look even better in person. If you're going to be at Gen Con, come by our booth and check out the advance copy we'll have on display!

We'll be shipping these out shortly after Gen Con, for the folks who ordered them. This is also when we'll be shipping out the collection of previously-released expansions! Don't worry if you haven't gotten a notification about that just yet. :-) I've also heard a few questions regarding the Foil Villain Collection. That's coming at the same time OblivAeon itself does, so that's still a little ways off.

Finally, I would be remiss not to mention Fate of the Elder Gods here! It is currently funded on Kickstarter and can only go up! In Fate of the Elder Gods, 1-4 players take on the ever-maddening role of cults trying to summon ancient evil and herald the fall of mankind! Each cult is competing to be first to summon their god, but they must also repel intrepid investigators working to seal off the gate to beyond with Elder Signs. Gather arcane artifacts, cast powerful spells, embrace the Dark Gift of your Elder God, and be first to awaken your dread master... before it's too late! Fate of the Elder Gods is designed by Richard Launius, Darrell Louder, and Chris Kirkman, and it plays in 60-90 minutes. Check it out on Kickstarter!

Foils and foiled plans
almost 8 years ago – Tue, Jul 05, 2016 at 11:10:16 PM

Hey, everyone! I hope everyone enjoyed their weekend (a long one for many, here in the US).

I have a bit of good news and a bit of less great news and a call to action in this month's update. Let's start with the good stuff, eh?

We got a production sample of the Fifth Anniversary Foil Hero Collection from the factory last week, and it looks gorgeous. Take a look at some of these photos I took.

We're super happy with how everything looks. It's a little hard to show foil cards in still images, but we have plans for that, too. We filmed an unboxing video, and we'll be able to show that to you in a week or so, once our video guy gets it cleaned up.

Now, I alluded to a bit of bad news, and I suppose this is the best time to say it. Unfortunately, there was a delay with the container carrying all these amazing boxes, and they're not going to make it here before Gen Con. We won't have it for sale at Gen Con, but we will be taking preorders. So we'll have to send these out once we return from Gen Con in August, and any preorders that we take there will be sent out after Kickstarter backers and previous preorders. We're not super happy about it, but sometimes things are just out of our control.

Now, here's the call to action! As you may have gathered from this update, the foil collection is on its way very soon. That means we need to have your final addresses by the end of this week. We're going to be locking down addresses in the BackerKit this Friday. Please make sure you have your correct address there before it's locked down. If you're not certain what address you'll be at when this wave ships, please use a friend, family member, or work address in the mean time, as we will not be able to delay your shipment. You can update your address right here, if you've lost the BackerKit information.

Thank you so much!

Foil and Gen Con!
almost 8 years ago – Tue, Jun 07, 2016 at 11:30:19 PM

Hey, folks!

We’re getting much closer to this summer and the Fifth Anniversary Foil Hero Collection! I thought you might like a sneak peak at the gorgeous foil logo on the box!

Those are still on target for shipping this summer, as well as the reprints of previously released Sentinels of the Multiverse lineup, for those who ordered them.

OblivAeon itself is coming along very nicely. Our amazing playtesters are hard at work helping to make it the best it can possibly be.  If you’re going to be at Gen Con this year, you can come check it out! We’re running several events in our room, and OblivAeon is among them! Even if you don’t get a chance to play, the room is open for all to visit and observe. We hope to see you there!

The BackerKit is locking down soon!

Hey there, heroic backers!

BackerKit Stuff

The BackerKit is going to be locking down very soon. As in, Friday the 20th soon (about a week and a half from the time of this update). This means that you have until then to make sure your addresses are up to date and you have everything added on that you want, since you won't be able to make any changes to your pledge at that time. If you have added anything extra to your pledge, this is also when your cards will be charged.

There are still quite a few of you who haven't answered your BackerKit survey yet. Please be sure to do this right away. Anything not on there when we lock it down will likely result in a delay in your receiving rewards. If you've not received your invitation and have done a thorough check of your email inbox and spam folders, let us know. If you have answered your survey and need to update your information, you can do that here.

Sentinels of the Multiverse: The Video Game - Season 2

Over the weekend, Handelabra Games’ Kickstarter for Season 2 of Sentinels of the Multiverse: The Video Game reached their funding goal of $80,000! You can now look forward to playing Vengeance, Villains of the Multiverse, OblivAeon and everything else on your PCs, laptops, tablets and phones.

Wait, PHONES?! Yes!

On May 2nd, Handelabra revealed that they have been working in secret to bring the Sentinels experience to the super-computer in your pocket, and that it will be coming out some time this summer!

The campaign closes this coming Friday, May 13th at 1 pm Central, so there’s only a few days left to achieve the stretch goals. Yesterday, Handelabra revealed a couple more interesting ones!

Already revealed:

  • $85k - Skip the Queue: A new digital-first variant is unlocked immediately in-game.
  • $90k - Show Off: All backers get an exclusive multiplayer avatar for use in-game commemorating your participation in the Kickstarter.
  • $95k - Rift in Time: We will release the Season 2 Preview Pack this summer with Setback, Chokepoint and Temple of Zhu-Long.
  • $110k - New Challenges Await: We will add Villain Challenge modes to the Video Game.

Just announced:

  • $125k - The Sounds of Victory: Part 1: Jean-Marc will create an album of Hero theme songs for all core game and Season 1 Heroes. All backers get a free copy!
  • $150k - Stories of the Multiverse: Handelabra will create a story campaign for the Video Game, written by Christopher.

Through Social Goals, the community has also unlocked several free wallpaper packs from the Sentinels of the Multiverse core game, Rook City & Infernal Relics, Shattered Timelines & Wrath of the Cosmos, as well as the Sentinels of the Multibits pack with the 8-bit remix of the Sentinels Theme song!

If you haven’t already, head over to the Season 2 Kickstarter and lend your support - there are only 3 days left!

Foil Heroes and so much more!
about 8 years ago – Tue, May 03, 2016 at 09:19:28 PM

Hey, everyone! I hope the first week of May is treating you fantastically.

We have some fun news for you. The 5th Anniversary Foil Hero Collection is off to the printer! This definitely falls within our healthy time frame for sending it out this summer. Adam has been hard at work drawing all new art, and I thought you might like to see a sample of what he's come up with. Behold!

On top of that, we just got back from PAX East about a week ago, and there was so much OblivAeon happening. Christopher spent a significant portion of his time showing off some of the new Heroes in the Kickstarter Games Dungeon, and we even played a few games with the new Heroes in the lobby of the hotel! Everything went so smoothly, and this expansion is shaping up to be fantastic.

If you're enjoying Sentinels of the Multiverse: The Video Game, don't forget that our friends at Handelabra are running a Kickstarter for Season 2! There are nine days to go, and they need your help! This is your chance to get your fix of Vengeance, Villains of the Multiverse, OblivAeon and more, in digital form.

We also have an expansion for Bottom of the 9th running on Kickstarter right now! Put some great equipment on your Sentinels of the 9th there, and make them even more powerful!

Last but certainly not least, our Evil Hat friends are running a Kickstarter campaign for The Dresden Files Cooperative Card Game. We know you're all a fan of cooperative card games, and this is a good one. Even better, they just unlocked a fun little stretch goal you might like: our very own Ra is crossing over and playable in the world of The Dresden Files! Go check them out!
